Anabelle B. Filbert is an associate in the firm’s Immigration Practice group. She received her undergraduate degree in International Relations from The University of South Florida in 1996 and her law degree from the University of Baltimore School Of Law in 2000. Following graduation from law school, Ms. Filbert first served as a law clerk for the Honorable Lee F. Satterfield of the D.C. Superior Court, and then joined the Montgomery County, Maryland, Public Defender’s Office as an assistant public defender. Following her tenure with the Public Defender’s Office, she went into private practice, and for the last several years has represented clients from all over the U.S. and overseas on matters relating to U.S. immigration law, including temporary employment of foreign personnel and permanent residence sponsorship. Her clients have included a broad range of businesses, from small start up companies to large multinational corporations and non-profit entities, including religious and medical institutions. She has also represented many individuals seeking visas based on family relationships, waivers for various immigration related issues, and U.S. asylum applicants. She has appeared on behalf of clients before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, U.S. Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals, U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Labor.
